Will slapping a chrome decal on a mesh grille work?

I've been browsing for grilles to put on my 2006 ford F150. I have XD rockstar rims on it, with twin rockstar decals in the back window, so the over all theme on the truck are the rockstar symbols. Well, I came across this perfect grille- the Rolling Big Power chrome mesh grille. It's gorgeous, with the star in the center. Really really nice. Only problem is that it costs $700!! I'd really feel nauseous about shelling out that much for a grille, especially since the only real reason I want it is because of the star emblem. Well I had already found this other chrome mesh grille that looks fantastic and only costs around $100. I actually like the style of the mesh better than the RPB. So, could I just stick a chrome rockstar emblem/decal on the center? I found some like $20 buck nice looking stars so I figured I could just buy the cheaper grille and apply them, since thats really just what I want is the style of the stars.
