Why does my pom like to eat my used tampon?

Yep...what everyone said. Male dog, female dog, it doesn't matter, they're just nasty. I have a golden and a pom, both female. Between the 2 of them they've dined on tampons, dirty diapers, kleenex, cat poop, their own poop, each others poop, dirty socks, dirty underwear, anything from any trash can, rolled around on and licked up a dead bird or squirrel or two...my pom has even growled at me to protect some of those "treats" from being taken from her...just think about it the next time you let your dog lick your hand, or worse, those who let their dogs lick their face...love my dogs to death : ) but ...eh.
