Does city municipal code violations affect DMV vehicle registration in California?

I am a California resident living in Los Angeles. I was visiting someone in Anaheim and received a "City of Anaheim" parking violation for backing into a parking stall. According to the ticket, I violated City of Anaheim Municipal Code 14.32.176. Am I required to pay this ticket even though I am not an Anaheim resident.. meaning, if I don't pay the ticket, can the unpaid violation affect my California DMV vehicle registration, or have any other consequences?
