In standard Japanese and Mandarin Chinese, there's no way there can be a word "mambo," just because you can't end syllables with a consonant in those languages. It would have to me "mamubo" or something similar in Japanese, and something like "mabo" in Mandarin. Of course, the Japanese word "mamubo" can be slurred to sound like "mambo," and I'm not familiar with their slang or languages like Vietnamese, Thai and other Asian languages, so I could just be unaware of things.
