Good start? Bad start? Constructive critisism...?

For a start, I think there's an overwhelming amount of characters all being introduced at the same time. In my opinion and experience, I think that you'll be having a hard time juggling with all these characters. But if you are confident that you could continue with these many characters and not confuse or bewilder your readers, I say this is a good start. (:
